A North Finder , also called a north seeker ​ or gyrocompass module , is a high-precision inertial orientation device that determines True North ​ using Earth’s rotation instead of a magnetic compass. It typically integrates a fiber optic gyroscope (FOG) ​ or MEMS gyroscope , accelerometers, a rotation/indexing mechanism, and a DSP/MCU for azimuth calculation.
